Marine Flag, Ferguson.

This residential street reminded me of one I'd painted in Tucson for my Landscape Lottery Project (click here to link): tidy ranch houses with garages maybe a little too small for the pickup trucks, American flags, Marine flags proudly displayed, a sense of civic pride expressed - and personal liberty/privacy guarded - through the collective maintenance of a conventionally defined outward order. One neighborhod was white and the other black.
