My second random painting spot was on the NW side of the Tucson Mountains, 1 1/2 miles from the nearest dirt road but conveniently located near the upper reaches of an easily navigable dry wash. The wash made for pleasant walking - I did most of it in bare feet. A few friends joined me for the hike, which took us into territory we'd never been to. At our destination, we startled up a 10-point mule deer buck. We stayed for the sunset and walked back in the dark.
