Until GPS point #11 turned up, it had somehow never occurred to me that I might be painting pine trees as part of the Tucson Landscape Lottery project. These particular pines were located reasonably close to the Mt. Lemmon Highway, but a strenuously steep and slippery 40-minute hike was required to reach them. I messed up my knees and scraped up my shins but had a nice time - once again feeling strangely pleased that some purpose, however contrived, had brought me to a spot that would otherwise go pretty much unappreciated, if not unseen. The view is south toward the Santa Rita range.
