In early spring of the year 2000, I left Rochester, NY for Washington DC, beginning what turned out to be a rather demanding 10,000 mile painting trip across the USA and back. It was, for me, a true creative odyssey. In the 11 weeks of this first IAP tour, I made 31 stops in 17 states, mostly staying with people I'd never met before and painting about 150 small landscape studies. You can "take" the First Tour by following the interactive map (or the itinerary below it) through a full catalogue of artwork and journal entries from the initial Itinerant Artist Project journey. Please note that this "First Tour" section is a remnant from an earlier website, and some of the internal links may not work properly. When all else fails, go "back" or use your backspace key. Move your mouse over the "hosts" and "place" labels on each page for details. |
